Gethsemane Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, the second largest Lutheran church body in North America. Along with other Lutheran congregations, we accept and teach Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases:
Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

Generally, Gethsemane offers two services each Sunday (one service during the summer months). Both

Gethsemane’s worship services are rooted in the Lutheran traditions: The Word (reading, interpretation and application of the Bible) and Sacraments (Holy Baptism, Holy Communion). Communion is served at the end of each service. As a member of the LCMS, we ask all visitors to speak with the Pastor before partaking in Communion, to affirm their understanding and adherence to Lutheran beliefs. The 9:00 a.m. service and 11:00 a.m. service are similar, although the early service tends to have more contemporary music .led by a small group of worship leaders (the Ensemble), and may follow a variety of service settings. The late service uses the more traditional hymns and settings. he tendency is that more young families attend the early service.

In the afternoons we offer a service using English and the African language Nuer from Sudan, but it accessible as an alternative to indivuals and families who enjoy music and Bible-based preaching. Gethsemane Lutheran Church offers a variety of worship styles for everyone.

Sunday School is a time of educating young people in God’s Word, held in between services at 9:45 a.m. All children from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 8 are welcome. There are often a variety of Bible Studies, Coffee hour, music practices and other activities between services for youth and adults.
