Generally, Gethsemane offers two services each Sunday (one service during the summer months). Both services are rooted in the Lutheran traditions: The Word (reading, interpretation and application of the Bible) and Sacraments (Holy Baptism, Holy Communion). Communion is served at the end of each service. As a member of the LCMS, we ask all visitors to speak with the Pastor before partaking in Communion, to affirm their understanding and adherence to Lutheran beliefs.
The 9:00 a.m. service and 11:00 a.m. service are similar, although the early service tends to have more contemporary music, led by a small group of worship leaders (the Ensemble), and may follow a variety of service settings. The late service uses the more traditional hymns and settings. The tendency is that more young families attend the early service. Gethsemane Lutheran Church offers a variety of worship styles for everyone.
Sunday School is a time of educating young people in God’s Word, held in between services at 9:45 a.m. All children from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 8 are welcome. There are often a variety of Bible Studies, practices and other activities between services for youth and adults.
